Yield Enhancing Systems®
To produce crops, one must manage the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum (SPAC). SPAC is in essence the movement of water from the soil through the plant to the atmosphere. The soil is a growth medium that can store water and plant nutrients that must be managed to fulfill the crop’s needs. The crop through a whole range of physiological processes, uses water and nutrients from the soil as well as certain gasses from the atmosphere to produce harvestable products e.g. grains, by using energy from sunlight. This is a very integrated and dynamic system and knowledge about this system is a prerequisite to optimizing crop production.
